BodyMind Therapy

Bodymind Therapy
is a calming experience involving gentle touch, awareness of breath and sometimes quiet reflective dialogue between therapist and recipient. With this process comes an  intimate, personal knowledge of oneself, which allows compassion to flower. With this opening, deep rejuvenation and relief from physical and emotional pain and trauma may occur. Easier movement and new emotional & cognitive choices can emerge. Posture and movement , dietary and lifestyle assessments may be included along with exercise, diet, and stress-reduction suggestions. This allows inner observation & awareness . Information that has been unconscious begins to move toward awareness through internal physical sensations, images, & memories. Often this awareness provides insight, while allowing affected muscles to relax. Over the course of a session there is a continual accumulation of tiny changes and a general sense of well-being.
Rosenberg's Method of Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) is a method of accessing unconscious belief systems through body symptoms which become apparent through breathwork and certain yoga positions, while the recipient is lying on a massage table. The therapist does not touch the recipient, but uses gentle questions and dialogue to help the recipient deepen into a new sense of self awareness. The result is often a profoundly changed outlook and feelings of renewed vitality in the body and mind.

Polarity Therapy and Rosen Method Bodywork along with dialogue and breath awareness presents similar results with hands-on contact..

Bodymind Acupressure works with physical and emotional tensions. Deep relaxation and release of chronic holding patterns occurs with very light non-invasive touch. Done with clothes on, the patient is lying on a massage table or this technique may be done in a chair or in bed. Quiet dialogue occurs between patient and therapist to bring attention to body sensations and thoughts and feelings which may arise.
